1 / 4Emirates Heritage Village
π Al Kasir, Abu Dhabi
Replica Emirati desert village with live Sadu weaving and pottery demos, a traditional souq, pearl-diving exhibits, and camel rides. Free entry for all ages. Toddler-friendly pathways throughout.
Heritage Village was a good and enriching visit. We bought fridge magnets from there, which felt nice as it supports the local market, even though there are only a few stalls. The village also has small museums that showcase Arabian pearl mining heritage, traditional tools, and beautiful embroidery work on clothing. Behind the Heritage Village, thereβs a small beach with great views, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, itβs a nice place to visit if youβre interested in local culture and history.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children and curious toddlers who engage with hands-on craft demonstrations. The open layout suits pushchairs and allows kids to move freely between exhibits. Visitors seeking air-conditioned indoor galleries will find this venue entirely outdoors, so plan around cooler parts of the day in summer.

βHeritage Village in Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place to experience the UAEβs rich culture and traditions. The village beautifully showcases traditional Emirati life, with authentic displays of Bedouin tents, handicrafts, and local markets. Walking through the site gives a real sense of the countryβs heritage and history. The staff are welcoming and happy to explain the exhibits, and you can even watch artisans at work β from pottery to weaving. Itβs both educational and visually captivating, making it perfect for families, tourists, and photography enthusiasts alike. A peaceful and cultural escape in the heart of Abu Dhabi β definitely worth a visit!β

βA nostalgic glimpse into traditional Emirati life, the Emirates Heritage Village is one of those places that has been part of Abu Dhabi for years. It seems to be undergoing some changes recently β the animals have been moved and a few areas look like theyβre being updated β but it still remains a meaningful cultural stop. The entrance is free, which makes it easy to wander in and explore at your own pace. Inside, youβll find small workshops, traditional huts, and a museum showcasing local culture, clothing, crafts, and the history of how life once looked in the UAE. The displays are simple but informative, and they always bring a sense of appreciation for the countryβs roots. There are also several little shops where you can buy souvenirs, handmade items, and thoughtful gifts. Itβs a great place to take visitors who want something authentic to take home. One of my favorite parts is the beautiful view of the water β the Corniche stretching out in front of you, with the traditional boats and calm sea creating a peaceful backdrop. You can sit for a moment and enjoy the breeze, especially in the late afternoon when the light is soft. Despite the ongoing changes, Emirates Heritage Village still holds a special charm. Itβs a quiet cultural corner of the city that blends history, arts, and a lovely waterfront setting.β

Overview
Set along the Abu Dhabi Corniche waterfront, Emirates Heritage Village recreates traditional Bedouin and pearl-diving life through walkable outdoor galleries. Artisans demonstrate Sadu weaving, pottery, and metalwork daily. A traditional souq sells handmade crafts and souvenirs. Inside the small museums, displays cover pearl-mining tools, embroidery, and maritime heritage. The beach-facing section delivers a direct view of the modern Abu Dhabi skyline against the historic setting.
