1 / 3Hatta Kayak
π Hatta, Dubai
Best for families who want a calm, low-effort day out on the water. The kayaking is flat and easy enough for first-timers and kids, with a free shuttle from the car park and mountains all around.
Hatta Kayak is Water Sport Department of Hatta Dam. Hatta Dam is a beautiful place to escape the busy life of Dubai. You can visit with family, friends, your partner, or even alone like I did. Itβs peaceful and welcoming for everyone. I visited using public transport and a paper map, which made the journey even more adventurous. The dam area is clean and calming. Although the temperature was above 43Β°C, the water felt pleasantly cool and refreshing. Several water activities are available at reasonable prices. Swimming is strictly prohibited because the water is used for producing drinking water after treatment and processing. I would highly recommend kayaking. Connectivity is good. From Dubai, you can take Bus E16 from Union Bus Station or Bus H02 from Dubai Mall Bus Station to Hatta Bus Station. From there, Bus H04 frequently runs towards Hatta Dam. There is also a free shuttle service available if you want to avoid the 500-meter walk. A food court is available with plenty of options to eat. The staff are friendly, polite, and hardworking. Salute to them for serving visitors in such immense heat.
π Family Action Verdict
This suits families who want a calm, low-effort outing rather than an adrenaline day - the water is flat and easy enough that first-timers and kids can relax, and you're surrounded by mountains instead of city noise.

βHatta kayaking is actually a very good experience and well worth doing. The water is extremely calm, which makes it very easy and relaxing, even if youβve never done it before. Youβre surrounded by mountains, so it feels like youβre sitting in a quiet natural bowl, away from the usual noise and pace of the city. Itβs also very easy to find, and once you arrive, itβs worth getting the shuttle bus from the car park as it makes the whole process smoother and more convenient. It doesnβt require much energy at all, so you can stay out on the water for quite a while without getting tired. Itβs simple, peaceful, and surprisingly enjoyable once youβre out there. Overall, itβs a calm, easy activity thatβs a nice change from more intense experiences in Dubai, and one Iβd highly recommend.β

βA must do in Hatta! The kayaks are relatively affordable, and once you get one you can keep it for as long as you want for no added charge. Gorgeous landscapes all around. Would recommend going in the late afternoon so you can catch the sunset, then kayak a bit in the dark too. Water is calm and the area is patrolled by lifeguards.β

βTo reach this area it's better to park in the parking area and take the free shuttle bus that can climb up and drop u right in. There are plenty of buses and they drop you back to the parking too... You can chooses to do the kayaking or only walk around and enjoy the beautiful view β€οΈβ

Overview
The water on Hatta Dam is properly flat and calm, so even kids and total first-timers can relax into it rather than fight the current. A free shuttle runs from the car park down to the launch, the staff stay friendly even in serious heat, and once you've got a kayak you can keep it as long as you like. It's mountains and quiet all around instead of city noise - the low-key, unhurried end of a Dubai weekend.
