Sharjah Heritage Museum
📍 Al Mareija, Sharjah
Six galleries in a beautifully restored historic home covering Emirati desert life, coastal traditions, celebrations, and oral history. Interactive education room lets children and adults decorate small pottery pieces.
I really enjoyed the Sharjah Heritage Museum. Their description of the museum is to trace the history of the UAEs rich culture and discover traditions that have withstood the test of time. Discover the history of Sharjah and its people through Landscape, Lifestyle, Celebrations, Traditional Knowledge, Livelihood, Oral Traditions and The Temporary Halls.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children aged 5 and above with an interest in UAE culture, and for adults seeking a genuine rather than superficial engagement with Emirati heritage. The pottery activity sustains younger children's attention during what is otherwise a display-heavy visit.

“It was a wonderful experience at this fort. Everything well preserved. With all the details available in each attraction. Very clean and peaceful. One can cover this fort in around 2 hours. Plan to visit in afternoon. Take combo tickets from the al qasmiya school. It will give you access to 5 museums. They close it after 8 pm so better you start in afternoon. Tickets are free on UAE NATIONAL DAY. Love sharjah”
