1 / 4Terra | Expo City Dubai
📍 Madinat Al Mataar, Dubai
Indoor and outdoor science centre at Expo City Dubai with recreated forest root and underwater environments, Taqa Island play zones, bee science workshops, and daily programming. Café on site. Ages 5 and up.
Beautiful exhibits! Both the indoor and outdoor areas are incredible. Filled with beautiful light displays and fun, immersive activities. Out of all the pavilions at expo city, this one was by far my favourite.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children aged 5 to 12 who engage with environmental and science topics through hands-on activity. The Taqa Island zones suit the younger end of that range. Adults visiting without children may find the content pitched below their level. Book tickets in advance and plan for a half-day given the site scale.

“Terra at Expo City has now been transformed into more of a science center for kids. It’s a fun and interactive place where children can learn about sustainability, the environment, and science through hands-on exhibits and activities. The space is colorful, engaging, and designed to keep kids curious while teaching them important lessons about the planet. Even if you’re not visiting with kids, it’s still interesting to see the creative ways they’ve made learning fun.”

“An amazing place with incredible architecture and world-class structures. You can truly see the effort and creativity that went into building it. However, be prepared to walk a lot — the area is huge and can be tiring to explore. It’s quite far from the main city, but definitely worth visiting at least once to appreciate the design and vision behind it. Sadly, it’s disappointing to see how quiet and empty the place has become after the Expo. It would be great if more activities, events, or attractions were introduced to bring life back to the area — otherwise, such a magnificent site might turn into an abandoned space, which would be a real loss for Dubai.”
