“VOX Cinemas at Deira City Centre is genuinely one of the best cinema experiences in Dubai. The infrastructure is world-class – from the seating to the sound system to the overall ambience – it really feels like you’ve stepped into a premium entertainment space. The staff are courteous, the halls are clean, and the whole experience feels smooth and organized. That said, with changing times, cinemas everywhere need to adapt. OTT platforms are growing rapidly and for the cost of a single movie outing for a family of four you can sometimes get a whole year of an OTT subscription. A rethink on pricing could help – India, for example, has adopted uniform ticket pricing in some states which keeps cinema accessible to everyone. Also, while the food counters inside VOX are priced competitively compared to other cinemas, the taste could be improved. Allowing guests to bring in small, packaged snacks (on a “see and ignore” basis) could also build goodwill with customers without major loss of revenue. But overall, the cinema experience here is exceptional. It’s a world-class facility and a reminder that change is the only constant – and VOX seems poised to embrace it.”
