1 / 3Wasit Wetland Centre
π Wasit Suburb, Sharjah
Wasit Wetland Centre features a 1km climate-controlled indoor pathway with diverse bird species behind wide-glass panels, plus an 8km outdoor wetland reserve accessible by buggy tour. Entry fee applies.
A beautiful place; but timing matters. I visited Wasit Waterfront today for the first time, and honestly, the place surprised me in the best way. Itβs calm, clean, and surrounded by nature in a way that makes you forget youβre still in a city. The combination of water, birds, soft breeze and the open walking paths creates a very grounding atmosphere β the kind that makes you breathe a little deeper without noticing. But hereβs something I wish I had known earlier: this place has working hours and closes around 6 PM. I arrived close to sunset, and although the view and silence were beautiful, there wasnβt enough time to walk around and explore. If your plan is to enjoy nature, walk slowly, sit somewhere quiet, and take it all in, then itβs much better to come in the morning or earlier in the afternoon. I can clearly imagine how peaceful and enjoyable it would be around sunrise, when the light is softer and the animals are more active. So my honest advice: Go early. Take water. Wear comfortable shoes. Donβt rush. Let the place unfold. Even though my time there was short, it was still worth the visit; and I already know Iβll come back again, but earlier in the day, to experience it properly.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who engage with educational wildlife content. The indoor gallery is the more reliable experience β air-conditioned, well-organised, and consistently praised. The outdoor buggy tour adds genuine wetland immersion when conditions and the assigned driver are good.

βIf u r around Ajman this beautiful gem is a must to visit. Massive,a bit wild wetland where u can take ride with a buggy or go for a walk (around 8km). Also there is a center where u can see different types of birds just behind wide glass. Quite, clean and well arranged spot. U really feel like at the wild nature. The entrance only 15 aed.β

βInteresting history and characteristics of local birds, an interesting place where you can see the life of birds in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere for birds that gives good energy to the visitor. It is especially very interesting for children. Unfortunately, the open site that can be visited by special car was closed. 2026/01/18β

βHonestly thereβs nothing much to see here. The entry ticket is AED 15 and you have two options indoor and outdoor. Inside itβs all glass covered and air conditioned and you can walk through a long (around 1 km) pathway where youβll see different kinds of birds from small ones to big ones. Each bird area has a board with its name and a few details which is nice. After that they take you on a buggy ride thatβs included in the ticket. It goes around the full wetland and the driver stops at a few bird watching spots. Thatβs pretty much it. I went on a sunny day so it was quite hot outside maybe itβs better to visit when the weather is pleasant. Overall itβs a calm and decent place but more suitable for kids below 10 or for someone who really loves birds.β

Overview
Wasit Wetland Centre divides into two distinct experiences. The indoor gallery runs approximately 1km of air-conditioned pathway lined with wide glass panels housing a wide variety of bird species, from small to large, each with educational information boards. Children respond well to the close-up viewing format. The outdoor 8km wetland buggy tour traverses natural habitat where wild birds can be seen in situ β quality of this experience depends heavily on the driver assigned and the season.
