Zayed Sports City Ice Rink

“This Ice Rink is an Olympic-size rink inside the Zayed Sports City complex in Abu Dhabi, surrounded by many other sports facilities. We visit occasionally for skating events and competitions. It’s quite impressive that it was built in the late 80s but still looks modern and well maintained after renovations. It’s a great venue for both figure skating and ice hockey. There’s arena-style seating with good views, a few snack bars inside for quick food and drinks, and proper dressing rooms. There’s also a hockey shop; it would be nice to have a figure skating shop too. The crew here are always very friendly, which we really appreciate. They don’t have skating aids for kids or beginners, though. Public sessions sometimes start later due to private training. Entry is about 85 AED on weekdays and around 110 AED on weekends and holidays. There’s a huge parking area, so access is easy. Since it’s not inside a mall, there’s not much to do right after skating, but there are other sports facilities and bowling nearby within the complex. Overall, a solid and reliable rink for events and competitions.”

“We went here during the ISU Junior tournament. The facilities were built many many years ago and the signs of age are quite obvious. Staff are very polite and helpful and it has very good pizza and a convenience store.”

“This rink is actually genuinely so good. Ice is smooth, place is big, and it’s just fun every single time. I’ve been here more than once and it never disappoints. Staff are chill and everything is organized. And honestly… the bad reviews make no sense. Like be serious. If you fell or can’t skate, that’s not the rink that’s a you problem. People just love complaining. 😭😭😭 Overall it’s a solid place, classic, reliable, and way better than people say. Would 100% come again.”

“The Ice rink cost 125 aed if it’s in rush hours if not then 100 aed . I really liked it . They give ice skates and helmets ( and sometimes even socks). I would recommend it on a hot day or any other day. 👍”
