Hisn Khorfakkan | حصن خورفكان
📍 Hay Al Sharg, Sharjah
Small museum built as a replica of the 1950s–60s original fort, housing historical relics, trade stories, and traditional culture exhibits. Located in Khor Fakkan's old souq with free parking nearby. Ages 5 and up.
We stumbled across this gem when we went for a stroll near Khorfakkan's old souq. Admission is very minimal but the amount of knowledge I got was great. You can learn about the City's and the region's rich history through the relics on display and stories of trade and war. If you're in the area, this is a very nice addition to your itinerary. I hope they can add more galleries in the near future. Their staff is very friendly and would gladly help you with any questions.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best as a short cultural stop for families already visiting Khor Fakkan's waterfront or old souq area. Children aged 7 and up who engage with historical objects and regional stories will absorb the most from the compact exhibit.

Hisn Khorfakkan occupies a rebuilt fort structure that replicates the design of the original 1950s–1960s fortification standing nearby. Inside, a focused collection of historical relics, trade artefacts, and cultural objects covers Khor Fakkan's role in regional commerce and conflict. The exhibits are well maintained and the surrounding old souq area and exterior are kept to the same standard. A full visit takes 10 to 20 minutes.
