Free entry to this wonderful piece of UAE History & Heritage. The focus here is on Sheikh Khalifa, son of Sheikh Zayed. Once a family home, it has now been preserved and gives an insight on how royalty once lived-more simply than you'd think! Videos play in various rooms to give ambiance to bygone era's. The staff were all considerably helpful, and enjoyed sharing their historical knowledge of the place. I was also gifted a lovely coffee candle in a traditional coffee cup as a Ramadan gift, made personally by a fabulous Emirati lady working at the entrance of the museum (sorry I didn't get your name!) Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

An excellent free educational experience that introduces children to UAE heritage in a beautifully preserved historic setting.

Qasr Al Muwaiji is a quiet and interesting heritage site in Al Ain, especially if you enjoy history and traditional architecture. This restored fort is known as the birthplace of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, which gives it special historical importance. The buildings are well preserved, and the layout is easy to explore. Inside, there are small exhibitions and information panels that explain the history of the ruling family and the area. It’s free to enter, and the staff are very friendly, they even offered me coffee, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere is calm, and it wasn’t too crowded when I visited, which made it more enjoyable.

We had a wonderful visit to Qasr Al Muwaiji, and our experience was made even more special thanks to Fatima Al Nuaimi. She provided a clear, informative, and engaging explanation throughout the tour and guided us through all the areas with great knowledge and confidence. Her passion for the history of Qasr Al Muwaiji was truly impressive. She explained everything in a simple yet meaningful way, making the story of the fort and the UAE’s heritage come alive for us. Thank you, Fatima, for your professionalism, kindness, and dedication. It was a pleasure being guided by you. highly recommended!

The place is very clean, well-maintained, and calming. The traditional mud-brick architecture, open courtyard, and high watchtowers give you a perfect feel of old Emirati life. At night, the lighting makes the fort look even more stunning🌿just amazing how they preserved the one of historical place😘
