1 / 2Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization
📍 Hay Al Sharq, Sharjah
Indoor museum with four galleries holding 5,000+ artifacts covering Islamic art, science, and history. Zodiac mosaic beneath the central dome is a standout feature. Café on site. Wheelchair accessible. All ages.
I recently visited the Islamic Civilization Museum, and it was truly an amazing experience. The way they present the history and achievements of Muslim civilization is incredibly impressive. One of the best parts is that, with a very affordable ticket I think around 5–10 AED you get access to excellent services and all four galleries. You can explore each gallery at your own pace, and then head to the top floor, where you’ll find an absolutely stunning masterpiece. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you’re coming to Sharjah, especially if you’re someone who appreciates art and culture. Visited on
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age children and adults with an interest in history, science, or Islamic culture. The peaceful atmosphere and low visitor numbers suit families who prefer unhurried exploration. Toddlers can enter and will engage more actively from around age 6 upward. Allow two to three hours to cover all four galleries properly.

“I went there for academic purposes, but it was a wonderful experience! The museum doesn’t only covers artifacts within the era of Islam, but also before that with context. Really recommend when you stop by to admire the lives of decades ago.”
